Aaliyah André is a student at University of Galway pursuing a degree in English and Creative Writing with Classics. Originally from the island of Guadeloupe, in the French West Indies, she is an active member of the society life at UG. Being on the committee of the French society as secretary while actively participating in the Photography Society and African and Caribbean society. While spontaneous and flexible, her art often centers women of color and their experience of the world. She hopes one day to reach the level of Adeline Rapon or the intimacy of Maryse Condé. When she isn’t planning photoshoots or writing poems, she misplaces needles embroidering messy flowers. She previously attended the Gerville Réache Lycée, in which she participated (amongst others) in a project against menstrual insecurity, resulting in her photography appearing in the National news.
