Ahmad Al Sharrah

Ahmad Al Sharrah is an aspiring Arab doctor who is currently studying his third year of Medicine at the Queen Mary University of London. Ahmad has spent most of his academic life in Kuwait where he developed his interest in science, particularly Biology, which led to him pursuing a Medical career. Ahmad has a keen interest in cardiothoracic surgery as well as orthopedics. Ahmad’s other interests include medical writing and medical history alongside an understanding of new techniques within the Medical field at large.

Addison’s disease presents with typical symptoms: Describe the presenting features of this disease, and how they are explained by the
underlying hormone deficiencies.

Essay 3 (November 2022) There is still considerable distrust about the use of vaccines, and in some countries and communities vaccine hesitancy is a significant issue. Discuss how vaccines work to produce an immune response and how we can reassure the public that they are safe.

Essay 4 (December 2022) As the only long bone that lies horizontally, the clavicles are susceptible to damage making them the weakest bone. Describe the development of the clavicle.

Essay 5 (January 2023) The rise of mental health disorders poses a danger to society globally. Recent emerging evidence suggests psychedelics can be utilised in the treatment of mental illness. Discuss
these aspects, with focus on the effects exerted by psychedelics.


Essay 6 (Feb/March 2023) Tourette’s syndrome and its existence has been established for over a century. Despite that, there is considerable information that we are yet to obtain regarding the unique nature of this condition. Describe the current underpinnings of Tourette’s syndrome with focus on its presentation and impact on patients.
